PGSHF membership refund: how to cancel and get your money back
A PGSHF member, or the family of a member who has died, can cancel the membership and get the subscription refunded. The application is made on paper to the PGSHF Head Office and the refund comes by crossed cheque. Before you apply, compare the refund with what the file could sell for.
When membership ends
Under the PGSHF Act 2004 and Rules 2013, membership can end when the member:
- withdraws voluntarily;
- does not meet the eligibility criteria;
- resigns, or is dismissed, removed or compulsorily retired from service;
- fails to pay the contribution for six months in a row;
- made a false statement in the application, or got membership through fraud or misrepresentation.
In these cases the member is entitled to a refund of the subscription paid.

Refund or sale: compare first
A refund returns the subscription paid. A membership that is close to allotment in the seniority list can be worth more on the market. Before cancelling, it is worth checking where the membership stands and what it could fetch. Send us the relationship number and we will tell you honestly. WhatsApp 0321-7545345.
